In 2016, 87,563 acres of forestland in northern Maine, first made famous by David Thoreau in the 1850s, was designated as a National Monument by President Obama. Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters now have a serious task at hand – to do the infrastructure and fundraising work necessary to preserve the land as a National Park while working closely with descendant groups of the land's original inhabitants, the Penobscot Nation, and the Wabanaki Confederacy.

We set out to create a video that would introduce the public to the monument and used binaural audio to create an immersive experience. If you've never been to Maine, consider this a formal invitation.
